We had the pleasure of taking some blind kids out for their first surf session ever.
Patrick, Jesus, Isaac, Andrew and counselor Julie.
Nick leading the charge....
Patrick's hoot was heard all the way to the top of the cape!
The four young men were part of a group on a field trip supported by the Commission for the blind.
Their lack of sight did not deter them from paddling out for a few waves.
The water is a chilly 46 degrees F.
Isaac getting to his feet on one of his first 3 waves!! The kid was incredibly stoked and a natural.
Thank yous go out to Terry Appleby for the idea of adding surfing to the fishing trip he annually puts together for the kids.
To Moments Surf Shop and Jeff Mollencop for the wetsuits and equipment.
To Nance, Nick and Pat for surf instruction.
